Though born and raised in Beaumont, TX, Austin is my home. I graduated from the University of Texas in May of 2004, and then worked for eighteen months as the program coordinator at the Episcopal Student Center. That’s right – the Episcopal Student Center played a key role in my spiritual formation. It was here, in this community, that I discerned a call to ordained ministry. It is hard to articulate how special the Student Center is to me. Before leaving for Virginia Theological Seminary in August of 2005, I had five years of Student Center formation behind me as both a student and as a leader. It was with great sadness that I left this community. In light of this, it is with great joy that I return to serve as the Episcopal Missioner to the University of Texas. There is so much faith and vitality and energy in this community. I could not be more excited to be back home. Finally, I’d love to get to know you. Give me a call. Shoot me an email (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)). Write me a letter. Send me a telegram. “Friend me” on Facebook. In other words, make contact. I look forward to meeting you soon.
My name is Casey Duncan and I am excited to be serving as the Program Coordinator at the Episcopal Student Center! I am a native Texan and was raised in the Episcopal Church. I grew up in Beaumont, Texas and then attended Texas A&M University where I studied Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences. After college I spent a few years in the DC area and studied at Virginia Theological Seminary where I earned my Master’s in Theological Studies. I’m enjoying making Austin my new home and excited about my ministry at the student center. The student center is an amazing place and I look forward to getting to know you! Feel free to give me a call or shoot me an email.
I was born in Houston, Texas, but quickly thereafter moved to the very small town of Liberty (population 8,323 - yes, we have stoplights). I came to the student center as a freshman at the University of Texas in the fall of 2005. I graduated from UT August 2009, and am attending nursing school at Concordia University. The student center has truly been a second family to me while here in Austin, and I have never been a part of such an enthusiastic, welcoming, and spirit-filled church as this one. I have loved every minute of my time here, and am so excited about this upcoming year and my new role as Student Relations Coordinator. I cannot wait to hang out with everyone again, and to meet all of the people coming to the student center for the first time! I would love to get to know you – so send me an email. |
